Rook and Moomin have been gone only 1 day and already I have slobbed the house up completely. I've known this about myself for a while - I tend to be orderly for other people because I picture that it will make them happy or will ease a social situation. But for myself I don't go to the trouble. As I think about this on some higher level clearly I don't think I am worth the bother... and other people are. For example the more people around to cook for, the more likely it is I will enjoy cooking. That is not ideal, but also understandable. Once in a while I reach the point of caring for myself as well as I would care for someone else. It would be nice to always be there, but I'm not and maybe that's okay.
I have a problem cooking for myself, too.

I think this can be read a couple of ways. It might mean that you don't care for yourself enough, or it might mean that clutter doesn't bother you. Similarly, with cooking for oneself it can be self-care or it can be "who wants to wash pots for one person?"
Only you know.
