okay i can definitely recommend the pain med cocktail, i am filled with weird apathy which is perturbing and yet the pain is decently less. also rook massaged my painful foot and ran me a bath. which i was able to get into the bathtub. baths rule. i don't like struggling into pajamas in front of anyone not even rook as I am so ungainly. i could put on the left sock but not the other one. so he had to do it. but then stood there staring at me as i writhed into my pants in slow motion. maybe it was really sexy rather than pathetic.

tomorrow i will not kick against the pain meds. i give up on that front.

Gina

i hope the pain meds keep working out, love. and i hope you get some rest and that your body heals okay.

Do you have a plastic outdoor chair? You could pop that in the tub/shower and use it for a shower chair, someone could help you into it. I know this sucks, just keep thinking - it's temporary.

Naamenblog

I'm so glad the pain medsd kicked in and that you got to take a bath hon.
Hope today is better.

Prentiss Riddle

Indian bucket baths are the best thing ev4r: get a big plastic bucket, fill it with the hottest water you can stand. Get a plastic cup. Get a little plastic stepstool or chair or whatever you got. Sit on the stool in the shower, use the cup to get yourself wet all over. Soap down. Use the cup to rinse. Refill the bucket if you want, you're still using much less water than a tub bath or shower. When you're all clean, here comes the best part: have somebody pick up the bucket and pour the rest of the water over your head! Hooray!

This was how I bathed every day in India, and became the ritual with my daughters till age 7 or so.

I am sure that is very virtuous and water-saving but I could not bend over to get the water out of the bucket. It is also less painful for me to stand than to sit, at least for a limited time.
