I read it initially as a sort of random 'this looks good' at the library when I was still in high school, not knowing at all about the sexuality of the characters. It was definitely, along with Nicola Griffith's Slow River, one of the first books I read when I was young and questioning, where female characters loved female characters and everyone was down with it, but that it wasn't the POINT of the book. Made a big impression on me at that time. Was great to be able to tell Laurie and Deb so.

Earth Logic, as I recall, started a bit slow for my tastes, but then moves like crazy. And I didn't even know about the publishing snafu with TOR, because I am slow to hear talk. I'm just really glad SBP and everyone have got things sorted as it's a series that deserves completion.

So many of my books are being shipped and won't be here until Monday, including the Logic series.

Luckily I packed Mindscape & Ammonite in my luggage so I have those.

SO GOOD. I picked it up basically b/c everyone seemed to be talking about it and read it going HOLY CRAP THIS IS AMAZING and only then realized that the author is the same Laurie Marks who wrote one of my favorite I-like-this-but-I-don't-fully-understand-it and I-plan-to-read-it-again-in-five-years-when-I-am-wiser books, Dancing Jack.

But I only picked up Fire Logic because I didn't want to get a whole series at once in case it sucked! I have no faith and am lame. Now I need to hie me to the bookstore to get Earth Logic (and the second Kushiel book.)
