I'm finally deciding to switch to Thunderbird for reading my email, and it looks very nice. Can i just say that Mac "Mail" application sucks ass? I tried using it (switching from Pine, finally) but hated it... non-intuitive... confusing... fucked up...
Anyway, Thunderbird is filtering everything very nicely and I have high hopes that it will help me with keeping track of everything, keeping up with email in the right way, and maybe it will have good anti-spam stuff. A big test for me will be - does it suck in my addresses correctly and offer to complete in a way that makes a tiny bit of sense (unlike goddamn $%@$!% Mail!!!!!!) Also - I was not super thrilled with Eudora though I remember it being nice about 15 years ago.
It's all very heartening and I can't wait to have everything nicely in folders - Can't tell you how long I've had 20K messages just lumped in my pine inbox, and every once in a while I go through and run some filters, which makes it crash more often than not, until it freaks again or I go over my disk use limit.
Once, when I was in Biloxi, someone looked over my shoulder while I was checking email on one of the public computers at the Hands On USA headquarters, and exclaimed, "Pine! Wow, that's Old School!"

I didn't even switch to using it from mm until like 5 years ago.
OMG but I also loathe the macosx addressbook - it won't export csv, got a stick up its ass, for why?!
