I disagree with the writer part. It's one field where you actually can be older and still succeed just fine.

I am with Joan Jett, totally, also.

There are many glass ceilings, some obvious some not so; race, sex, orientation...and what's more punk that smashing through them? She really is the last of the punks when many punks went off to do commercials and such shit.

And she rocks on the new Peaches LP :-D

"I am with Joan Jett, totally, also."

Uhuh my english needs a revamp. Sorry, that grammatically sucked. Typing like a 14 year old Myspace occupant. oops.

Should read

"I am also with Joan Jett as a warrior."

As someone who has been canned from a band "because we decided we wanted a guy singer" I can SO identify with this whole issue. When I was younger, I used to go by a stage name that used initials instead of a first name just so bands seeking a singer would call and I'd have a chance to talk to them before I was ruled out automatically. Now I'm dealing with being an *ageing* female hard rock singer, which adds a lovely new layer of discrimination.
