Don't Nurses read Wikipedia:
Overall, the mortality rate for general anesthesia is about five deaths per million anethestic administrations.[1] Common causes of death under anaesthesia include
* aspiration of stomach contents
* suffocation
* allergic reactions to anaesthesia and other deadly genetic predispositions
* human error
and "in 1994, motor vehicle crashes accounted for 40,676 fatalites (in the USA)". I don't know the number of trips driven in 1994, but its gotta be in the billions. So, I'd say the nurse was probably smoking crack.
