Does anyone live down near Boca Raton or Miami? Might you know someone there, someone with a lick of sense, who might go and be with my grandma in the emergency room... Is this nuts to ask? who might just be like "hi, i'm a friend of your granddaughter's..." and hold her hand?
I hope my aunt is going to be on her way out there asap from los angeles. but i can't stand the thought of my grandma in the hospital with no one with her.
aaaaaaaaa
I have often thought we need a network of people willing to do this for each other in different cities... the integry network
Reminds me so much of your role during the Katrina aftermath, connecting with people in far-away towns and connecting them to loved ones, all with a total suspension of cynicism. Now you need this same thing.
I hope someone stands in for you at your grandmother's bedside.

I love this network idea!
I don't think it's nuts. I hope someone can go.

i think it might be sort of invasive...
how do you kno she wants someone there? some people are not comforted by strangers or other people being around them.
i know i would far far prefer to be alone than have a stranger, even a super nice stranger, be all up in my business when i was trying to deal with myself.

Maybe you're right Minnie... I am just feeling super panicky and not sure what to do. i would have gotten on a flight if there had been one to get there before tomorrow. at least our aunt is going. but man, just to have someone there to get you a drink or call the nurse or whatever.

i'm in florida but on the other side of the state, like LA- to SF kind of distance, so i can't.
you're probably feeling this way in part because of your super vigilance duing moomin's recent hospital stay. but i know what you mean. i wish i knew somebody over there, but i just don't:(
