crummy. must be super stressful. get well m!

toobeaut

Oh, the poor little feller. Good thing you got it in time.

Only good part: happens only once.

Lisa Hirsch

Oh, my gosh, how scary; I hope all is well.

e

i had it at 14. it was rotten, but then they took it out and it was over. he'll be okay. hang in. poor little guy.

Mary Tsao

Poor M!! I'm sure the realization that he needed to go to the emergency room was terrible. I hope everything is straightforward and gets figured out without complications.

badgerbag

Thanks y'all. We're at Stafnord now and there's wireless and he's asleep for a bit, zonked out on morphine after watching a show about pandas. They are going to take out his appendix tonight probably in a couple of hours.

Joshua Macy

Oh dear. I hope it goes well and he recovers quickly!

Robin

How scary, so sorry.

Squid

I am so sorry for Moomin to have to go through all that pain and sickness, and you and Rook all that worry. But Moomin will be brave, and probably learn a lot, too. Will they let him keep his appendix?

GraceD

Squid - eeeeeuuuuwww! But, cool.

Poor sweet monkey. I send love to all. Are you spending the night there, Badger?

Iris

How scary for you all .. poor you. My daughter had her appendix out last year and it's true .. so frightening beforehand and then totally straightforward. I think keeping it would be cool.

Denise

I don't think they let people keep their body parts anymore, there's some weird and stupid law about it. Which makes an appendicitis not worth having, of course there's all of that pain too. Poor kid. :-(

e

it wasn't an option 40 years ago, either, keeping it. it's squishy, anyway. i think they only let you keep the things that grew, like stones and teeth and such, not the actual organs, right? nobody kept tonsils, after all.

i'm sure he's fine now; i wonder what recovery is like :)

e

that was supposed to say: i wonder what recovery is like 40 years later? probably 15 minutes, now, what?

Vanda

Hope the little guy is feeling better by now and they keep him well doped up for the day.

qp

oh crap, good luck, moomin! hope he is recovering well.

Liz

Oh, poor little pumpkin! Poor you -- how frightening. Hope the surgery went well & you and he are resting comfortably.

Jo

Oh my god! I hope he's better by now. Wow. Terrible for him and terrible for y'all as well. Hang in there! Let me know if you need help somehow.

Heather

They didn't let me keep my tonsils...

Bleah! It's just awful isn't it when your kiddo is hurting and you're worried but you've got the brave 'we can handle it face on'? I took my kiddo once to the hospital thinking that she was halucinating. Turns out it was just a night terror but because she was older I was worried about schizophrenia. It was hard for me not to look worried that night.

Moomin! I never had an operation until I was 30. And I was still nervous. Hope everything went well. Ask your mom to give us an update.

elswhere

Moomin strikes me a so stoic, but that's gotta be scary. Thinking of you (it's a dopey thing to say I guess but it's true).
