Wow... it cost 12K to get my tubes tied? I don't get it... and they said it was more like 4K in the beginning. Moomin's delivery was like... 8K? and the ectopic pregnancy emergency surgery was around 10.
Just FYI, dear Internet. It's good to have insurance.
it should be free.

$150. for son's pre-op visit with Dr. Smugfucker
$200. for son's pre-op blood work
Humanitarian charity paying for son's dental work: Priceless
There's a lot of shit you can't afford without insurance. Being sick is one of them.

Ralphie, what happened to that debt? Does it just go away? Does the hospital try to bill the family, or what? I don't get how anyone could be expected to pay that or how a family would ever get out from under that level of crushing debt.

The only thing she has of any value was 145 acres property in east texas that has belonged to my family since the end of world war one. It was to be handed down to me and my little brother wade. the hospital put a lein on it a week after she passed and it will be sold at auction with the 100% of the proceeds going to the hospital, i called a lawyer and theres nothing i can do.im so furious about it, but at the same time i dont really know who im mad at-the hospital?,my stepfather and my mother? its just completely fucked. ive always wanted to take that land and be a farmer, for as long as i can remember. Though its a lot of acres its only worth about $1000 per acre, so i guess the hopital will garnish my stepfathers every penny until he dies, and then theyll write it off.
