Or not quite to bed, but to a bath and further attempt to finish this enormous book in one day because I can't stop thinking about it. (I'm at the conversation betwen Kay and Elizabeth where they're handcuffed and peeing together - a remarkable conversation and complete mindfuck.)

The other part to this train of thought above is "And what are they doing that was so effective for me, and how to pass that on or incorporate that behavior?" i.e. when people... this sounds arrogant, but when people look up to me, what then? I think: 1) Listen. 2) Recognize, articulate, give validation. 3) Public support and reference to ideas, like when a good teacher says, "and as so and so pointed out..." 4) other than that, continue kicking ass in whatever way possible. There must be more, but I recognize that much and am very grateful for it. I think perhaps 5) expose one's own messiness a bit, on purpose.

Aaaaa! And even further into the mindfuck, the exploration of psychoanalysis and the practices of the Cultural Revolution. Can't... put...down... book....

Or is all that the wrong way to think about relationships, and I'm stuck in mentor/student patterns... Even if you assume equality does all that creep in? Hmmmm.

"fallacy...that intellectual labor makes one exempt from having to do anything else, as if it were actually more important."

It seems an even more insidious and hard to eradicate fallacy when discussing art (or should that be Art?).
