Rook is unable to tear himself away from reading A Brother's Price. I'm awash with glee. I love it when people finally read the book you are trying to make them read, and then... he keeps making these little squeaking noises and going "Whaaaaa! ha!!!!!" in a pleased way. Now he's cracking up and pounding the bed with delighted spazzitude. A reserved man, quiet, prudent, calm... unveiled... in the throes of full book-devouring delight....
I will make everyone read it!
Hi Badger,
I happened to be reading ten:ten today, and noticed that you were writing an article on what it's like to be a Geek Girl.
My SO, is doing his Honours Thesis (Does one do that in the states? We are from New Zealand) on the Geek community here (mostly around table-top and roleplaying stuff) and is interested in online articles and opinion pieces. Kameron Hurley from Brutal Women did a really cool piece that he gobbled up.
I was wondering, is this article for public consumption, and is it related more to gaming than computering?
If so, could we talk?

No, but I have written other articles about gaming and gender, and so has Rook, and I have more stuff in the works. A couple of years ago we started trying to put together a book on gender and rpgs... but then got distracted. I'll email you...
