I explained in earlier posts about the DRC, the Disaster Recovery Center.
People started lining up for it last night and stayed all night. Thousands of people were in line this morning. They are now saying they'll open tomorrow. THAT will help. They just hope people will, what, disappear? Die? Magically teleport to some other city?
The Red Cross isn't providing any services other than its hotline, as far as I can tell.
No one in Houston is providing food or donations, except the Salvation Army in the suburbs in Pasadena, and there is no public transportation to that area.
What will it take?
Where is all that Red Cross money, donations, stuff, where is that? Call the Red Cross and ask them, how about? They need to get off their butts, I don't care how burned out and tired they are, and make their own Disaster Relief Center, separate from FEMA, who clearly fucked up the DRC. So for over a week there have been NO SERVICES in Houston.
I know, we're lucky the hurricane didn't hit head-on. Fine. So, it didn't. So get moving, helping people.
I know what kind of fatique I have now: STUPID FATIGUE!
