Jo

And sometimes! When you're at someone's house and you dry your hands on the bath towel and it has conditioner or lotion on it, and you have to start all over and wash again, but all day long you can smell it on your hands, and ewwww!

But McCoot's asscrack has to be one of the ickiest of images in the History of Images.

Lori

OK, dummy gallery sez: so why would one want to make one's bed in the morning (aside from keeping cat hair on top of the blankets instead of between the sheets)?

badgerbag

A stunning ephiphany... This hasn't resulted in my having made my bed even once since last year. I made Chulita's once, while admiring her system of leaving her pajamas under her pillow. That one, I have been sort of doing, as it works better than throwing the pajamas on the floor and then stepping on them by accident all day.

Iris

Wasn't that why everyone (I speak loosely here) was so excited by the introduction of duvets. One practised flicking movement and the bed looked made.

Lori

Oh, I feel better now. I knew that already. That's why I make the bed when I've stayed over at someone else's for the night. But I'm still not doing it for myself. (We have two separate sets of blankets for me and the spousy anyway, so it's nearly impossible to "make" the bed.)

Prentiss Riddle

How about a faceful of cat hair from a hand towel? Right after one has taken a shower and shaved specifically to get rid of the "ooh yick" feeling from being guest in a houseful of incontinent animals? I very nearly ran naked and screaming out the front door.

As for made-up beds... I have two kids and a lot of chaos in my life. A semi-neat bed is a small measure of order and calm I can give myself every day. I also try to get the dining table and the couch cleared of clutter for a few minutes once a week. Otherwise the terrorists will have won.
