It's always reassuring to know how totally fucking scary we are.

Oh wow... I'm further along in the book . Yes, you get hourly updates of my fascinating day of reading in bed.

The bandit chief has been an illusion-girl for a year, barely surviving, beaten-up, in rags, covered with lice, etc. With memories of Things Too Hideous... A demon has just made him into a "real girl" now. (And of course immediately raped her AND forced her to enjoy it, sort of.) What will happen now!?

In the other Lickey book I just read - about the Exile guy from the Bad Nation run by evil priests - the women about to go into battle are reminded a few times about how there are Fates Worse than Death but I was pleasantly surprised that being raped wasn't one of them. that was kind of cool. But in this Not-Lesbian Sisterhood Is Powerful book (from 1988) ... well... it's all about rape. But actually I'm finding it fairly interesting, complicated, and thought-provoking. Now the Sword of Protecting Women is going to make them rescue the former bandit! Will she be redeemed?

I'm dubious about the overall quality of your reading selection, dear.
