he likes it if I draw the thing first. he watches how i do it... like, what in what order. Then does exactly that. He also had the book in front of him. This was was his attempt #3 to make a nice roundy back for the ohmu... the first two were not circular enough for his tastes! If he were copying a real artist, and their process, i bet he would learn a lot.
my ohmu was not as charming as his.
but yeah -- actually maybe i'll get a mug with that on it! he would be amazed and proud... he gets very excited if I want to copy something he draws on the copier, or scan it...

What the heck is an ohmu? Google gives an incoherent answer, mostly a lot of fan art, the best example of which is this (from here).
And what is NausicaƤ? My guess is a collaboration between Hayao Miyazaki and Jean Paul Sartre, perhaps with some Jacques Cousteau thrown in. Is the result kid-friendly?

But I linked to a picture --- it is miyazaki - a black and white series of books that are more adult in theme (not x-rated, just grim) and then the kids' movie and the book from that movie.
if you google images for ohmu nausicaa you get fine results! the movie title is nausicaa and the valley of the wind.
