Is it just me or is this super disturbing?
10,000 people arrested
Is there some list somewhere of... Sure, they cite the people who are known violent prison escapees and stuff, but doesn't it seem awfully scary that ... who knows who they arrested? And it could be totally a blind for just arresting whoever they want. This could be how it starts. Who is going to track who got arrested for what and next time they do a sweep who are the extras? Is this sort of thing going to mask the real violent criminals, our goverment, as they round up people little by little?
It does make you wonder. All the categories they name -- suspected murderers, rapists, etc. -- only add up to 1550 people (even if there are no overlaps). What did the other 8450 do? I'd stop short of political conspiracy theories and guess that they were mostly arrested on drug charges.

I just can't make myself quite stop short like that. And it seems like there must be an awful lot of room for overlap. and drug charges last time I thought about it seemed like one of those things very convenient to be able to arrest nearly anyone, arbitrarily. I noticed the articles all mention how it went so well, they just can't wait to do it again! And there are at least 1 million "fugitives" still out there. Huh?
