For some reason - late night? hard rain? while we were driving home i was thinking vague, drifty post-apocalypse thoughts from my manuals of field survival, the parts where they explain that if you are lost or trapped in hostile territory, you should eat bugs. There was a bunch of stuff about how to make beetles more palatable. So for no reason at all in the car I could not stop thinking about how if I had to, I'd cleverly grind up the beetles, dry them in the sun, mix the beetle paste with water, and make bug pancakes. If you can't risk a fire, then I think sun-dried bugs are less gross than any other way.
May it help you out someday!
Or not.
Beetles appear to have very little meat on them though.I'm afraid it may have to be worms.Perhaps after sun drying they might have a crispy noodle quality - with your eyes closed.

Iris! Why don't you post? Or write me a juicy email... but then the rest of the world will miss out.

No, no, you can't sun-dry your worms -- you need the moisture.
