Jo

I always walk through your front yard and long to Deal with it somehow. Plants and etc. But I suppose it must wait for the execution of the tree?

badgerbag

Yeah... the front could be super nice! It is pointless to do anything until the tree is chopped down (soon!?) But there s hould also be a sprinkler system as I'm not going to spend an hour a day watering it during the summer...

Actually I shoudl go try to get the permit this afternoon.

I did clean up the trash problem, at least. I figure weed-whacking would just make it have less flowers at this point. I like the oxalis.

badgerbag

You know what would be kind of cool - just grow all oregano and rosemary out there. It tends not to die if you forget to water it, and I could tell all our neighbors they can have free oregano pinches for cooking.

Jo

It would smell good! And how about a couple of those bee-attracting plants that don't need much water with the red and yellow flowers? I will work in your yard in the absence of a permanent one of my own.

Prentiss Riddle

I can see it now -- the rosemary and oregano idea will catch on and soon there will be deadly (but aromatic) rosemary and oregano wildfires all over the Bay Area like the eucalyptus ones of recent years...

Jo

And then everyone will run outside with tomato sauce and meatballs and feast in the streets!

badgerbag

Lantanas.. they creep me out somehow.

Salvia, instead!

Iris

I grow oregano everywhere too.Weird that it is also totally happy 1,000 ft. up in a wet climate.Perhaps it and rats will finally take over the world.
