Lots of ideas last night, writing about possible angles on my thesis project that would tie in a whole bunch of my projects. I've been feeling dissatisfied with the idea of doing a "selected poems" in translation with intro and this new idea might be the best of many worlds...
we ate fabulous Burmese food - wrote in Blu3 danube cafe - bought $1.50 fishnets and cute flowered socks in some store on clement - then were sucked into green apple books where they were having a 50 cent book sale. Through the heroic exercise of will I did not spend a ton of money. I put down my armload of books and said farewell to them, swearing fealty through cheaper online purchases...
Just a couple of days ago I read something about tea leaf salad, which i'd never heard of. Then yesterday I ate some and it was fantastic! Also in the same vein of enjoyable coincidences that are just awareness and noticing, I was writing about that guy who was obsessed with the M1sfits and wore only M1sfit tshirts ( I think he had 2 different ones kept in constant rotation) and then yesterday on campus saw someone with that one M1sfits tshirt! and these 2 things gave me a strange thrill. why should that be?
We watched a br1tish comedy show called Brass3ye - the drugs episode. Oh lord... CAKE... I was helpless with laughter at some point and made Chula rewind it a bunch esp. at the point where the various politicians who had been fooled so gloriously were saying all the different names for Cake like somebody's spunky backpack ... loonytoad quack... oh wow. And that it was really brought up before parliament. ha.

This morning, a little translation, submitting poems, then to b@rkeley. I will get signatures on forms and find out everything like where to park and where the buildings are. I'll be in Barkeley every Thurs. afternoon, you east bay people!
Has Chula got tapes of 'Sp@ced'? I just know that you would love it. (Or perhaps I don't know you at all).Sorry for wild over-commenting today but it is all sooo interesting.
