Very cool. I wish there were a clear well-lit photo that wasn't taken from a bug's-eye perspective at the bottom of the pedestal.

Of the fan art, this one is especially evocative. Looks like that would hurt after a while.

You know that Indian (India Indian) folk iconography has a big tradition of goddesses riding on various wild animals: Amba Mata on a tiger, Durga on a lion, and a personal favorite of mine that Google can't find of a tribal goddess on a crocodile. No tapirs, though.
