Which, if I can interject, is about 50 yards from your new front door.

been there, done that, got the t-shirt ("and those t-shirts are SOOO unflattering on you - why can't you wear prettier clothes? and a little bit of makeup would surely help a lot").

my only advice - Flee! Run for your life! Plan errands, or work outings, anything to get you some space - or get them out of the house periodically!

I'm 35 now, and still being mom'ed. I have a feeling it never ends.

Funny... they're staying in the hotel... that helps a lot because at 8:30 or 9 there is finally peace. Rook suffers my general surly bitchiness, but otherwise we just sit cosily and quietly with our books and computers. The hotel doesn't help during the day, as they actually are here to visit us, right?

There is no solution... it is just the way it is... bear with me while I complain and flounder a little....

Truly we had a great time at the gardens running about foolishly, all. Mom even let T. hold her by one hand and ankle and spin her around and around in the air like an airplane as she turned beet red and screeched like a 5 year old kid. We all chose spots for our animals and photographed them - in urns, in formal beds of tulips, in herbaceous borders, drinking from the reflecting pool, etc. What could be better? I mean whose family is cooler than that? I remind you that we were all wearing funny hats and sometimes all sneaking around trying to pretend to be secret agents.

And yeah I usually get the hair/makeup/clothes lecture but have been spared this time.

I think possibly all human relationships are messy and irritating like this? At least over time.
