Suzanne

What an amazing piece. Your line about the brain in a jar made me laugh because I so often think about that myself. Once in a while, I get on this train of fatalistic thinking around the brain/personality vs. body/capsule, and I tell my husband that if I were to have some sort of traumatic brain injury, he should find himself a new partner since I would no longer be his partner. Sure, my body would be here, but that wouldn't mean that I am me if my brain became very different. Your piece made me feel much better. Thanks so much for sharing it again.

What great imagery. "Laying in the bath like an electric seal..." had me rolling. I love the flow.

I like what you say about birth--it does feel olympic.

Beautiful and brilliant Liz. Thanks.

I liked your letter to your body so much that I referred to it on the discussion boards on my own women’s site, WomenCo:

Once again, thanks for the piece. Keep up the good work!

My uncle's music school in San Francisco, Sunset Academy of Music. He's a really great guitar teacher for adults or kids, a good listener with a sense of humor and intuitive understanding of teaching.
