"People poked me and asked why I have never come to a Barflink thing before. Well, I don't know! Busy busy! Also, I make a not very good appendage as I'm too powerful of a force of nature, and I don't want to get Rook in trouble!"

Boy, do I hear that.

minnie

i have made many a frame out of baseboards from home depot.

There is a moment at things like that (which I find myself woefully often, sort of, well not so much any more but before when I was "wife of the grad student" too often) where you think to yourself, y'know, if I did a pole dance right now, at least they'd all have something to rally around in their sheer horror, and then they wouldn't have to talk about anything else for about six months. It would be an act of kindness!

"I make a not very good appendage as I'm too powerful of a force of nature, and I don't want to get Rook in trouble!"

Man, that is me to a T. I was never a good appendage for my mother, either. King is not a good appendage for me. He tends to hold up walls and grunt menacingly. I don't care, but other people worry that they're boring him. No, that's just how he is. Go fucking strike up a conversation.

And the starting eating awkwardness. I always fix that one by declaring I am ready to eat as the food looks too good to wait.

I think your social instincts are excellent.

John and Eva Kesssssler! I know them! Eva and my Santa Monica cousin (by marriage) were schoolmates in the Old Country, and John and Eva displaced me in the cousins' guest room for a weekend two years ago! They had just been visiting their son and his family in Alaska. I don't believe it!

O it is a small world!

badger

Woop! I'm going to obscure that one in case they self-google! But wow, small world indeed!!!!!

And I got to meet Squid today! And two of the Squid-ettes. It's 6-Degrees-of-elswhere's (or Savtadotty's) -Family day!

Jo

No way! Really? Wow! I hope pictures were taken!

Prentiss Riddle

Would a living donut work as a sentient tiara?

Sunset Academy of Music

My uncle's music school in San Francisco, Sunset Academy of Music. He's a really great guitar teacher for adults or kids, a good listener with a sense of humor and intuitive understanding of teaching.
